I'm Dan Metcalf, a published author, librarian and storyteller and I recently went to Ilsham C of E Primary School to give a talk on my writing and help celebrate National Storytelling Week. I visited both Years 5 and 6, Monkey Puzzle and Great Oaks classes, and led them in writing the next part of my exclusive story Jamie Jones: Galaxy Defender (Aged 8 and a half).
Everyone had a great time (especially me) and we came up with some great stories. The teachers said "Dan was fantastic and really inspired the kids", while the students themselves took home part of a story which they were going to follow up on in class. I had a ball, and loved the enthusiasm and hospitality I was shown by the students and staff there.
