According to the survey, 48 percent of UK adults who use e-readers say the technology gets them to read more. In addition to that, 41 percent of respondents reported that being able to look up words they don’t know makes reading easier, and over half say that being able to change the size and appearance of text helps as well.The article, which should be read in full, claims that people with ereaders stick with books longer. I certainly agree with one of the findings, that access to free ebooks has led readers to discover other books they may not have read. I've certainly read a few titles I wouldn't have picked up otherwise, just because they were free. In fact, the first thing we did in my house when I got a Kindle was replace all our classic, out-of-copyright titles in the house with the free ebook equivalent.
